Application Information

43 South (undergraduate sophomore, junior, senior students)

  1. Interested students should review the Downtown Commons information on the Housing & Residential Education website and contact Housing & Residential Education, 801-587-2002 or info@housing.utah.edu to see if there are still spaces available.
  2. Applicants should apply for housing in Housing U.
  3. After completing the application, please contact Housing & Residential Education to confirm space availability and if so, to move forward with the reservation process.
  4. Rooms are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not delay.

Note: Students who are entering the University in their first semester, regardless of class status or AP credits are not eligible to live in Downtown Commons. Please log in to Housing U and sign up on the Housing wait list for Heritage Commons housing.

349 1st Avenue (graduate students)

    1. Interested students should review the Downtown Commons information on the Housing & Residential Education website and contact Housing & Residential Education, 801-587-2002 or info@housing.utah.edu to see if there are still spaces available.
    2. Applicants should apply for housing by completing the Room Rental Application [PDF] and submit it to Housing & Residential Education (FAX 801-585-3591 or email a PDF version at info@housing.utah.edu). Please contact Housing & Residential Education to pay your $25 application fee.
    3. After completing the application, Housing & Residential Education will contact you regarding the state of your application.
    4. Rooms are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Please do not delay.

    Tours

    The buildings are currently being updated for use this fall. We are not able to offer tours of the buildings or the apartment. An apartment diagram and pictures are available below.

    • Primarily Undergraduate Sophomore, Junior, Senior housing
    • All bedrooms are doubles (two people per bedroom) within a 2 bedroom apartment
    • Individuals may buy out the other side of the bedroom and reside in the room by themselves

    349 1st Avenue

    • Primarily graduate student housing
    • All bedrooms are singles (one person per bedroom) within a 2 or 3 bedroom apartment

    General Apartment Description

    • Kitchen (appliances, table and chairs)
    • Bathroom with dual sinks
    • Bedroom furniture: Extra-long twin mattress, bed frame, desk, desk chair, and dresser
    • Living room will be furnished with sofa or loveseat and chair. There may be differences between apartments.

    Amenities

    • Laundry: There is a laundry room in each facility.
    • Program/Lounge space: Each building has a program/lounge space for resident use.
    • Mail boxes are provided on site
