Community Environment
This community offers residents the opportunity to live amongst other students in the College of Engineering who share academic and career goals. First year students in particular will appreciate the benefit of living in a community which fosters academic excellence within the rigorous engineering curriculum. One male and one female upper-class student mentor will live on the floor with you, ready to help with any problems or concerns while providing leadership and mentoring, as well as a connection to the College of Engineering Dean's Office. Study sessions and tutoring will help ensure your academic success, while interaction with engineering faculty, staff, and alumni will further your professional development.

Engineering Floor Quotes
"Living on the engineering floor with students who share similar academic goals creates a great learning environment and a special sense of community. Residents form study groups and tutor each other. The fact of being surrounded by students who share their academic workload forms a special bond between them. Where else do you see friends bonding over homework?!" - Farah Vega, Engineering Floor RA
Floor Activities
- Tower Building Contest: Residents on the floor compete annually in a tower building contest. With a half hour time frame and only spaghetti and marshmallows, residents use their creativity to compete with their fellow peers and friends.
- Bowl-it-Up: Bi-annually, the Union Bowling Alley is rented out for a night of fun for the residents. Two free hours of bowling, what could be better?
- Service Projects: Residents participate in community service projects. This year, the floor, with the help of RHA, was able to donate 19 fleece blankets to the McKay-Dee Hospital Pediatrics unit.
- Celebrate Geek Holidays! Gravity Day, Pi Day and e Day are all celebrated on this floor. Residents are able to relax and mingle in honor these glorious "science constants" celebrations.
- Departmental Dinners: These monthly dinners are a great way for students to make connections with members of the engineering field and learn about opportunities in the industry!
