House Environment

Living in the Honors Second Year Experience House provides a balanced environment of fun and learning. Since all residents are Honors students, studying is taken seriously and residents encourage each others’ success. Honors students also know how to have fun. It’s easy to organize a snack, movie, or coffee run for a study break. "Hall parties," where residents gather in the hallways or common rooms to chat, are frequent. The house allows you to get know other academically strong students, who can become lifelong friends. Honors House residents learn from, study with, and laugh with each other.

606 Resident Quotes

"[In] the houses... you get the sense that you are living with your family. Every Sunday night we have a house dinner and it is just a time to relax and take a break from the stress of life. We feel like a family gathering around the table. In the dorms, you are friends. Here, you're family." — Alix

"The second year Honors House has been a great opportunity for me. I love living with eleven other individuals who all have different majors and backgrounds. This is especially enriching to me since we all have similar academic pursuits being in the Honors Program. Since living in the second year Honors House, I have made some of my most fun and interesting relationships." — Natasha

"Leaving the honors floor was so hard, I thought I would never live in a tight knit and friendly community again. Then I was accepted into the house, and it's like I never left! All of my housemates are my friends... We know each other and are comfortable here. It's like being home." — Katie
