Just for U Parents: Welcome to On Campus Housing!
Housing & Residential Education (HRE) understands that the college years can be a challenging experience for both students and families. College is an important time for students to mature and develop their life skills. Naturally, a parents' and family members' role during this time evolves and changes as their student grows.
Here in HRE we seek to partner with parents to help your students help themselves. It is our aim to offer resources that are helpful to parents’ experience, as well as information and tools that parents can share with their students so as to guide them to success.
The information in this website is here so that parents and family can be an informed and supportive resource for your students. Please feel free to contact us if you questions or concerns.
Why Should You Consider Having Your Student Live on Campus?
Students who live on campus are more likely to graduate from college, interact more frequently with faculty and peers, and are significantly more satisfied with college.

Billing Information
Students may check their housing account in Housing U to see monthly charges for housing, meal plans (for residence hall students) and utilities (for apartment residents). To access your Housing U account, log into the Campus Information System (CIS), click on the Housing U link, then the “Account” tab in the top left hand corner of the page. To see each billed item, click on “Detail.” Parents, please note the information regarding FERPA.
Housing & Residential Education does not mail paper statements. Students are notified by e-mail at the end of the month that charges have been placed on their account. In general, payments are due on the first day of each month. Students should ensure that the e-mail on file with the University is accurate and that their e-mail client's settings will receive e-mail from info@housing.utah.edu.
