Why Should You Live on Campus?
Three words—convenience, community, and the true college experience. No need to wake up early and fight traffic to get to class—wake up on your own schedule, eat breakfast at the Heritage Center, and hop on the shuttle to get to your class on time. Experience the on-campus community—build lasting friendships, walk to cultural and sporting events, and have easy access to labs and study groups. And the true college experience—no need for your day to end when classes are over—continue your learning (and living!) over dinner or at programs in your halls.
How Much Does it Cost?
Not as much as you might think. When you consider the fact that a student's most valuable resource is time, living on campus is a value. Residents enjoy easy access to study resources, like free tutoring at the Heritage Center while having no commute time, shopping for meals, cooking, or clean up! For exact rates, take a look at the Residence Halls Rates and Dates (PDF) or Apartment Rates and Dates (PDF). Monthly payments can be made to make living on campus even easier.

Take a Tour
Interested in checking out Heritage Commons? Take a tour. Tours are given between 1:00 - 4:30 PM during the academic year and 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM during the summer months. Many tours are led by student hosts that live on campus, so you can ask them what it's really like to live where it all happens. All tours leave from the Housing & Residential Education main office in Building 822.

Billing Information
Housing & Residential Education does not mail paper statements. In general, payments are due on the first day of each month. Students may check their account in Housing U to see monthly charges for housing, meal plans (for residence hall students) and utilities (for apartment residents). Students are notified by e-mail at the end of the month that charges have been placed on their account. Students should ensure that the e-mail on file with the University is accurate and that their e-mail client's settings will receive e-mail from info@housing.utah.edu. Students and parents, please also note the important information regarding FERPA.
