Kahlert Village

Opened in August 2020, Kahlert Village is the newest residential community on campus and is home to approximately 1,200 first-year students. The building is made up of seven themed communities to help students deepen their engagement on campus. The building features single, double, and triple bedrooms in cluster and suite-style configurations. Kahlert Village is centrally located on campus, includes a full-service dining facility, and a variety of classroom and study space available for students. A meal plan is required in this living area.

Please note, these apartment communities are located in downtown Salt Lake City and not on the University of Utah campus. Individuals who live in these apartments are not required to have a meal plan, but may select one if they would like.

Lassonde Studios opened in the Fall of 2016, and is home for 412 student entrepreneurs and innovators. This is a place where students from any major or year can “Live. Create. Launch.” The building features cluster, loft, and pod style living options.  Residents can engage with a community of makers on the four themed maker lounges in the building.

Marriott Honors Community

The Donna Garff Marriott Honors Residential Scholars Community (MHC) features apartment living for 309 upper-division undergraduate Honors students. The MHC apartments offer full-size kitchens, spacious common areas, and great views of campus and the Wasatch Mountains. The MHC is unique because it also includes classroom spaces, an Honors Market/Convenience Store, and a centralized front desk and mail room making it a great place to learn, socialize, and relax. This building opened in 2012. Residents are not required to select a meal plan, however many students select one for convenience.
