The 2026-2027 Housing Application is Open!
After submitting their U of U enrollment deposit, first-year students can apply to live on campus in Housing U in CIS. Complete the application by filling out personal information, signing the agreement, and paying the $130 application fee.
Please note that your reservation time slot will be determined by your application completion time. Apply early!
Housing guarantee: All first-year students who apply by May 4 will receive a room offer no later than August 1.

Dining
All matriculated University of Utah students with an active student ID number have access to purchase meal plans in the Housing U Portal through CIS, whether they live on campus or not. Log into your account and select the term and dining plan you want to purchase!

In September 2024, the U’s Board of Trustees approved the first $155 million project in a long-term student housing initiative. Phase 1, the first building under construction just south of Kahlert Village, will add this 2026 fall semester 1,446 beds to campus in a 6-story residence hall with approximately 349,342 square feet designed for first year and upper-division students.
